I almost did not want to tell this story because those of you who are outside of Texas will probably be thinking, “Only in Texas”. Well, I am going to go ahead and type about it anyway. Yesterday on my way home from work I notice that the traffic on the Interstate is really backing up and merging over. I had the radio on, and a traffic update came over the radio stating that, “a cattle carrying truck has overturned and is backing up traffic for miles. There are cattle out on the road and possibly some dead.” Well, everyone was forced to take another route as the Interstate was completely shut down. A while later Francine (my wife) and I are were on our way to the grocery store and we noticed police vehicles scrambling like crazy. They were all over the place. Same deal on our way home from the grocery store. Keep in mind this is over two hours after the accident. Well, this morning I was watching the news and apparently a small truck decided it was time to switch lanes and ran into the side of a semi truck. The semi swerved to miss and ended up on its side after it had struck the smaller truck. Cattle was everywhere – some dead some alive. Next thing I see was police men chasing cows on the highway and shooting them. Yeah, you read that right. They were shooting cattle that was running down the Interstate. This had me thinking: Had this made national newspapers what would be the headline? I decided to make a list of some possible headliners (since this took place in Texas):
